NRDC:- National Research and Development Corporation
NRDC stands for National Research Development Corporation. It was established by the Government of India in 1953 with the object to promote, develop and commercialize the various technologies, inventions and processes emanating from various national institutions and universities. It is presently working under the administrative control of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Technology. NRDC has had connections with the scientific and industrial community in India during the past six decades of existence and has developed a wide network of research institutions, academia, and industry to make formal arrangements with them for the commercialization of know-how developed in their laboratories and is now recognized as a large repository of technologies spread over almost all areas of industry. Other than being the torch bearer in the field of technology transfer, it also undertakes a number of activities under its structured promotional program for encouragement and advancement of research, promotion of inventions and innovations such as meritorious inventions awards.
