language attribute in JSP page directive

This attribute is used to specify the scripting language for the current page.

Syntax:

<%@ page language="value"%>

Example:

welcome.jsp

<%@ page language="java" %>   
 
<html>
	<head>
		<title>language page directive example</title>
	</head>
	<body>		
		<h3>Hello this is a language page directive example.</h3>
	</body>
</html>

web.xml

<web-app>
 
  <welcome-file-list>
          <welcome-file>welcome.jsp</welcome-file>
  </welcome-file-list>	
 
</web-app>
