how many types of aggregate functions are there in sql?


SQL Aggregate Functions are used to aggregate values from multiple columns in a table and returns a single value.

There are 7 aggregate functions available in SQL:

  • AVG(): It returns the average value from specified columns
  • COUNT(): It returns number of table rows
  • MAX(): It returns largest value among the records
  • MIN(): It returns smallest value among the records
  • SUM(): It returns the sum of specified column values
  • FIRST(): It returns the first value
  • LAST(): It returns last value
