Java reflection get field declaring class

The getDeclaringClass() method of field object is used to get the class declaring the field.

Example

TestClass.java

package com.codesjava;

public class TestClass {
	private int defaultLength = 10;
	private int defaultWidth = 5;
	public String testField = "codesjava";

	public void drawShape(String color) {
		System.out.println("Rectangle create with following properties: ");
		System.out.println("Length: " + defaultLength);
		System.out.println("Width: " + defaultWidth);
	}
}

ReflectionTest.java

package com.codesjava;

import java.lang.reflect.Field;

public class ReflectionTest {
	public static void main(String args[]){
		try {
			Class c=Class.forName("com.codesjava.TestClass");
			Field field = c.getField("testField");
			Class<?> fieldClass = field.getDeclaringClass();
			System.out.println(fieldClass.getCanonicalName());
		} catch (Exception e) {
			e.printStackTrace();
		}
	}
}

Output

com.codesjava.TestClass
